Catapult Challenge – a finale exercise.

Teams must launch a ball as far as possible, using only the equipment provided, however the ball is at the bottom of a long tube which has lots of holes in it. The team must fill the tube up with water so that the ball floats to the top. Teams have only 15 minutes to complete the task. The winning team is the one that throws the ball the furthest.

 

Learning Objectives

Teams compete against each other head to head again working together to build a structure that will propel a ball. Again, highlighting strengths and weaknesses, the more mechanically minded may be able to find a solution quicker than others.
