Tower of Hanoi

Ferrari are recruiting new pit stop crew. They have designed a team-building event to observe how the team members interact with each other. The numbered tyres must be reassembled on another pole in exactly the same order as they are initially presented. Only one tyre may be moved at a time and can only be placed on top of another tyre if the one below it is of a higher value.

 

Learning Objectives

This exercise involves team members working together to solve a problem. It is a useful exercise to highlight natural leaders as some individuals may naturally take the lead, whilst other teams are happy to work the problem out together. Again, it can highlight individuals that are considerate and want to involve everyone in the decision.
